According to, KIMBERLY HEFLING, Associated Press Writer,This got some "heated" exchange in tonights debate but it's an issue that reminds me of a hilarious comment in 1992 by then Clinton Campaign manager James Carville who reportedly said in a disparaging remark at the time, "Pennsylvania is Alabama plus Pittsburgh." Then there was the infamous line that Obama stated that's getting a lot of play in NRA attack ads about the "Bitter small town folks who cling to religion, xenophobia, and guns." But the more I hear about the hardworking, decent, small town, country-loving, Bible thumping, gun toting, Good ole boys and girls of Pennsylvania, the more I love them all. More than anything though, it makes me realize why the Junto boys love E so much.
Democratic Rep. John Murtha said Wednesday his home base of western Pennsylvania is racist and that could reduce Barack Obama's victory margin in the state by 4 percentage points.
The 17-term Democratic congressman told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette in a story posted Wednesday on its Web site: "There is no question that western Pennsylvania is a racist area."
