LOCAL WOMAN STRUCK BY LIGHTNING
A good friend of a good friend was struck by lightning while putting a load of laundry in the washing machine in her basement during a fierce storm here last week. Her husband died recently of a brain tumor. Life may not be short, but it can end suddenly without notice. Not that that's news, but it kind of brings it home.

This lady cracks me up when she says "God completely, totally protected me." A less optimistic person might have said "God totally struck me with lightning. What the hell?"
I thought the same thing. I don't think my first thought would be "God spared my life," it would be "Yo, what am I doing wrong?" This woman's faith was not shaken by the slow, arduous death of her husband. She is a good picture of what faith is supposed to look like.
