MIRACLE OF THE MEADOWLANDS
This has nothing to do with anything, except that everyone should know the real story behind Joe Pisarcik's famous game-turning fumble at the end of that Eagles-Giants game, because at some point it will come up and you will be glad you read it here.

I don't remember this incident, but it's a great story.
We watched football religiously growing up and we always had a small amount riding on the games. I clearly remember having PHI in this game and I was watching the closing seconds with Swish. Although I haven't had money on a game for over 15 yrs now, excluding a few Super Bowl parties, I understood more than ever at that instant why the games are so much more exciting with a little wager going.
I know a lot of poker players who gamble big on football. I am not really a big gambler and I've got no edge in calling football games, so I barely even watch the sport any more. Some guys who are basically like me tell me that they throw a few bucks around each Sunday for the sole purpose of getting themselves interested enough in the outcomes to watch the games, and I can see the logic in that.
Anyways, Swish used to tell me about how he was watching the PIT/OAK game which hinged on the Immaculate Reception and I thought that was really cool. I've seen my share of huge moments, most notably the Gibson HR in '88 but my first Immaculate Reception moment that I can remember was the Miracle of the Meadowlands. I couldn't have told you the name of the QB or even that Cszonka was the RB but I sure remember that dude taking the ball off of one bounce and running it in and turning my sure loss into a winner.
