THE OTHER BLACKLIST

Remember Dwight Schultz from the A-Team? This is an interesting article about trying to make a living as a conservative actor in Hollywood.

Big Hollywood also has an article that explain how Jon Stewart and Bill Maher for hide behind comedy while delivering a steady partisan message.

Both were interesting.

Schultz got work as a neurotic Lt. on Star Trek: Next Generation and some of the movies for a while. Haven't seen him in a long time. To be successful as a conservative actor, it seems you have to be a HE-MAN action hero (ala Arnold, Stalone, Willis, etc.) or you are SOL. I think Tom Hanks negotiates it best, he gives to the Dems, shows up at the fundrasiers, and then makes conservative films. I'd rather have a 100 Hanks and get to see the kind of stuff his production studio puts out.

Schultz on ST:TNG played a guy that nobody liked. Central Casting just looks in their conservative file to plug that hole.
